GE 7FA/9FA Gas Turbine Spare Parts — Manufactured, Not Resold

Every GE 7FA/9FA Part. One Manufacturer.

OEM-equivalent hot gas path components, combustion hardware, compressor and rotor parts for the GE 7FA (MS7001FA) and GE 9FA (MS9001FA) F-class heavy-duty gas turbines. New, refurbished and exchange options with full material traceability.

The GE 7FA (MS7001FA, 60 Hz) and GE 9FA (MS9001FA, 50 Hz) are F-class heavy-duty gas turbines developed by GE — now part of GE Vernova. With more than 670 7FA units and 1,100+ 9FA units in service worldwide, the FA fleet ranks among the most widely deployed large-frame gas turbines in global power generation. Both platforms rely on DLN 2.6 (7FA) and DLN 2.6+ (9FA) combustion systems and share a common architecture for hot gas path, compressor and rotor components.

ZURN Power is an independent manufacturer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GE or GE Vernova. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

As a growing number of FA units exit their original OEM Contractual Service Agreements (CSAs), operators are regaining control of their parts strategy. ZURN manufactures OEM-equivalent 7FA/9FA spare parts with full material traceability, shorter lead times and core-exchange programs — without the long-term service lock-in of a CSA. Our engineers understand the DLN 2.6 combustion system, the three-stage hot gas path and the compressor rows from R0 through the last stage, and we hold 2,400+ FA part numbers across 15+ component categories. Why Power Plant Operators Choose ZURN Power for 7FA/9FA Spares

Operators select ZURN for 7FA/9FA spares for five concrete reasons:

Complete Range of 7FA/9FA Hot Gas Path (HGP) Parts

The hot gas path defines the maintenance interval and reliability of every 7FA/9FA unit. ZURN manufactures the full HGP bill of materials to OEM-equivalent geometry and material specifications, with dimensional inspection and material certification on every shipment.

New, Refurbished & Exchange Options for 7FA/9FA

ZURN offers three procurement paths so operators can match part strategy to outage economics:

This flexibility matters most when a unit exits a CSA and the operator is building an independent spares inventory for the first time. For a broader comparison, read our analysis of the OEM versus independent manufacturer approach to gas turbine parts.

Our reverse-engineering capability — CMM measurement, 3D scanning and metallurgical sectioning — allows us to manufacture parts where the OEM drawing is unavailable, obsolete or restricted under a former CSA.

Quality Assurance & OEM-Equivalent Certification

Every 7FA/9FA spare part is produced under our ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality system, with NADCAP-accredited special processes for heat treatment (AMS 2750), nondestructive examination and coatings. Manufacturing is supported by VIM furnaces, HIP densification, AMS 2750-compliant heat treatment and 5-axis CNC machining. Materials carry full traceability — IN738/IN738LC, Mar-M247, CMSX-4, Rene 80, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718 and 12Cr steel — with EN 10204 3.1 certification on every casting and forging.

Frequently Asked Questions — 7FA/9FA Spare Parts

What is the difference between GE 7FA and 9FA gas turbines?

The GE 7FA (MS7001FA) is a 60 Hz F-class heavy-duty gas turbine rated at approximately 183 MW in simple cycle, with more than 670 units in service. The GE 9FA (MS9001FA) is the 50 Hz counterpart rated at approximately 256 MW in simple cycle, with more than 1,100 units in service. Both use DLN 2.6-family combustion and share a common hot gas path, compressor and rotor architecture; the 9FA employs the DLN 2.6+ system with higher mass flow.

Are aftermarket GE 7FA/9FA spare parts interchangeable with OEM parts?

Yes, when manufactured to OEM-equivalent geometry and material specifications with full traceability. ZURN reverse-engineers and manufactures 7FA/9FA hot gas path, compressor and rotor components to OEM drawing tolerances, using the same superalloy grades (IN738LC, Mar-M247, CMSX-4, Rene 80) and MCrAlY + YSZ TBC coatings. Interchangeability is verified by CMM inspection and material certification. ZURN Power is an independent manufacturer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GE or GE Vernova.

What is the typical lead time for GE 7FA/9FA hot gas path parts?

Typical lead time is 8 to 14 weeks for investment-cast hot gas path components (buckets, nozzles, liners) and 4 to 8 weeks for machined compressor and rotor parts. Exchange and refurbished options can compress delivery to align with outage windows. ZURN returns quotes within 48 hours of receiving a part number, drawing or unit serial.

Can ZURN manufacture parts for obsolete or discontinued GE 7FA/9FA components?

Yes. When an OEM part number is obsolete, restricted or no longer stocked, ZURN reverse-engineers the component from a sample using CMM measurement, 3D scanning and metallurgical sectioning. ZURN holds 2,400+ FA part numbers across 15+ component categories and builds to drawing even when the OEM drawing is unavailable.

What certifications does ZURN Power hold for gas turbine parts manufacturing?

ZURN operates under ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality systems, with NADCAP-accredited special processes for heat treatment (AMS 2750), nondestructive examination and coatings. Materials are certified to EN 10204 3.1 and supported by full dimensional and metallurgical inspection reports.

Do you support GE 7FA.03, 7FA.04, and 7FA.05 variants?

Yes. The 7FA platform has evolved through 7FA.01, 7FA.03, 7FA.04 and the current 7FA.05 and 7FA.evo variants, with DLN 2.6 through DLN 2.6e combustion upgrades. ZURN cross-references parts by unit serial number and variant to confirm interchangeability, because some hot gas path and combustion components differ across revisions.
