GT8C2 Spare Parts We Manufacture
ZURN Power covers the GT8C2 parts scope for the uprated version of the ABB GT8C heavy-duty gas turbine. Component families are produced in-house against OEM drawings or reverse-engineered from a supplied sample, with material and dimensional control matched to OEM specification. We are an independent alternative manufacturer — not an authorized OEM distributor.
- Turbine Blades — hot gas path rotor blades for the GT8C2 expander, in nickel-base superalloy with optional thermal barrier coating.
- Turbine Vanes & Nozzles — nozzle segments and vane rows for hot gas path service, cast and coated to drawing.
- Combustion System Hardware — burner parts, liners and heat shields matched to the unit combustor arrangement.
- Compressor Blading — compressor rotor blades and stator vanes, diaphragms and seal strips.
- Rotor Components — rotor spacers, sealing rings, coupling and balance hardware to drawing.
GT8C2 Hot Gas Path Components
Maintenance cost on the GT8C2 concentrates in the hot gas path: rotor blades, nozzle segments and shroud hardware run at high metal temperature with cooling air that degrades over time. ZURN Power manufactures GT8C2 hot gas path components in Inconel 738-class and equivalent nickel-base superalloys — IN738LC, IN738, EEQ111 and Mar-M247 as the drawing requires — with thermal barrier coating applied on request. Castings are produced by vacuum investment casting, consolidated by HIP and vacuum heat treatment, then finished by 5-axis machining and verified with full dimensional reports, so replacement parts install without rework and keep the inspection interval on schedule.
GT8C2 Combustion System Parts
The GT8C2 uses the silo-type combustor arrangement of the ABB / Alstom heavy-duty line. Burner hardware, combustor liners, tile carriers and heat shield tiles differ by frame revision and by any conversion or uprate already applied to the unit. Send the combustor arrangement or drawing with the RFQ and we quote hardware that matches — burner internals, liners, tile carriers and heat shield tiles, with material traceability and EN 10204 3.1 certification.
GT8C2 Compressor & Rotor Parts
The axial compressor drives output and heat rate across the whole machine. ZURN Power manufactures GT8C2 compressor rotor blades and stator vanes in 12Cr martensitic stainless steels (X20Cr13 / 1.4313), 17-4PH and titanium alloys, plus diaphragms and seal strips, and rotor spacers and coupling hardware in 26NiCrMoV145 / 1CrMoV and IN718 — strictly to drawing. Blades are batch-inspected for profile, root fit and balance, supporting both full rotor overhauls and single-stage replacements.
Ordering from a Drawing or BOM
Ratings, stage counts and combustor arrangements vary by frame revision and by any uprate already applied. We do not guess part numbers — send the OEM number, drawing or a sample and we quote against it.
| Component family | What we need from you | Typical lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Turbine blading | Part number or drawing + revision | 8–14 weeks |
| Combustion hardware | Combustor arrangement / drawing | 8–14 weeks |
| Compressor blading | Stage + part number | 8–14 weeks |
| Rotor components | Drawing + material spec | 8–14 weeks |
Manufacturing Capability & Certification
ZURN Power (Jiangsu Roban Special Alloy Co., Ltd.) produces GT8C2 spare parts by OEM-drawing machining and reverse engineering from supplied samples. Materials include Inconel 738-class and equivalent high-temperature alloys; thermal barrier coatings are applied in-house. Every shipment includes an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate and a dimensional inspection report; EN 10204 3.2 and third-party inspection are available on request. Standard lead time is 8–14 weeks.
GT8C2 Design Baseline — What Can Be Serviced Without Opening the Machine
The GT8C2 is a heavy-duty unit built around 18 single EV burners working on lean-premix vortex breakdown, which gives dry low-NOx gas operation; in oil duty water is injected to control NOx. A single row of variable inlet guide vanes at the compressor inlet adjusts combustion air, so load is controlled by fuel flow and vane angle together. The compressor and turbine blades sit on one rotor shaft, carried by journal and thrust bearings mounted in the compressor intake housing and the exhaust diffuser, and every turbine stage except the last is air-cooled.
Intake, compressor, turbine housings and exhaust diffuser are bolted together into one rigid unit, so access comes from lifting the top half-shells. The published build description lists the following work as possible without opening the compressor or turbine housings:
- Inspection, repair and renewal of the bearings
- Inspection of compressor stage 1 and of the turbine first and last stages
- Borescope inspection of all turbine stages and all 18 combustors through dedicated ports
- Rotor balancing in three balancing planes
For spares planning this splits the machine into two supply windows. Burners, transition pieces, flame monitors and ignition hardware, bearings, and first/last stage hardware can be handled in a short outage with the machine closed; hot gas path rows 2–3 need a full casing lift. Reference rating, 60 Hz ISO base load: 56.2 MW, 33.8% gross efficiency, heat rate 10,098 Btu/kWh, 6,204 rpm, pressure ratio 17.6:1, exhaust 197 kg/s at 508 °C, NOx below 25 vppm dry at 15% O2. Always confirm the rating and part numbers against the unit nameplate and BOM — 50 Hz and upgraded builds differ.
Send us the drawing, BOM line or a photo of the nameplate and we will confirm which of the two windows your item falls into before quoting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which GT8C2 parts does ZURN Power manufacture?
Turbine blades and nozzle segments, combustion system hardware including burner internals, combustor liners, tile carriers and heat shield tiles, compressor rotor and stator blading, and rotor spacers, sealing rings and coupling hardware — to OEM drawings or reverse-engineered to sample.
Do you also cover other Alstom GT models?
Yes. We manufacture and repair for GT8C, GT9, GT11N2, GT13E2-V96 as well. Component geometry and part numbers differ by frame and revision, so we quote against your part number or drawing.
Are your GT8C2 components certified?
Yes. Every part ships with an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate traceable to heat lot and a dimensional inspection report; EN 10204 3.2 and third-party inspection (TPI) are available on request.
What is the lead time for GT8C2 spare parts?
Standard lead time is 8–14 weeks for new manufacture depending on component type, coating requirement and casting complexity; repair and refurbishment runs 4–8 weeks. Outage-critical requests are accelerated on agreement.
How do I get a quote?
Email your part number, drawing or BOM to hanson@zurnpower.com or sales@zurnpower.com, or message Hanson on WhatsApp +86 186 1687 9105. Quotes for B2B projects are issued after drawing review.
